St. Paul Catholic Cemetery
Policies

I. PERMITTED IN THE CEMETERY
1. One urn of metal or stone may be placed on burial lots provided the urn is moveable, (with the exception of in-ground metal vases in which only live flowers may be placed during the permitted time) * vases may be mounted on the monument. *(See #2)
2. Cut flowers are permitted only on certain days: Easter, Mothers’ Day, Fathers’ Day, Memorial Day and All Souls’ Day. These will be left on for a period of five (5) days and then removed. Containers must conform to Cemetery Rules and must be set on the grave, never buried in the ground. There is absolutely no planting allowed.
3. Artificial flowers (Wreaths, Blankets, etc.) are permitted during the winter months only (November 1 to March 15). March 15 thru March 31 and October 15 thru October 31 are cemetery clean-up days. All decorations will then be removed by the cemetery in order to prepare for the grass cutting season in April and the winter season in November. Exception: Artificial flowers will be permitted on top of monuments, in an urn or a vase mounted on the monument. Artificial flowers must never be placed on the ground during the mowing season.
4. Only one marker will be permitted on each grave. ALL MARKERS MUST HAVE A FOOTER. No marker shall be set to embrace two (2) or more graves unless specifically permitted by the Management. Plaques (eg. Veterans’ Markers) must be put on a footer or fastened to the monument.
II. NOT PERMITTED IN THE CEMETERY
5. Boxes, toys, shells, rods of wood or metal, loose wire, glassware of any kind, chairs, benches, trellises, rustic work and other so-called ornamental objects are strictly prohibited, and will be removed.
6. No owner or anyone else shall decorate a lot with vases, flowers, trees or shrubs alive or artificial except under the direction and approval of the Management and in keeping with the General Rules now in effect or to be enacted. Planting of myrtle, ivy or vines of any kind is not permitted. Such vines add to the burden of care-taking and detract from the uniformity of appearance, so desirable in a cemetery.
7. St. Paul Cemetery reserves the right to remove without notice any architectural ornaments, flowers, trees and shrubs from lots in the case they become unsightly, unsafe or detrimental to adjacent lots or cause inconvenience to the cemetery employees. When such removals are requested by lot owners, the Management alone shall decide whether they are necessary and advisable.
8. Shrub, tree and flower planting is not permitted in St. Paul Catholic Cemetery. Tree removal work is to be done by the cemetery staff only.
III. FROM THE ST. PAUL CEMETERY ASSOCIATON:
The cemetery Management will do all ordinary work in the care of lots. Extra work will be performed by cemetery employees at the expense of the lot owners. When such work is ordered, payment must be made in advance. Please observe these few rules to help us keep our cemetery a beautiful place. Consult the office (419-668-6044) if you have any questions regarding rules on your particular lot. Thank you for your continuing cooperation.
