What Are Your Gifts and Talents That You
Can Share with the Church and Others?
Picture
As disciples of Christ, we are called to use our gifts/talents in service to the Church and to others. There are several ways that you can put your gifts and talents into action and live our parish mission. How will you use your gifts to:
  • Celebrate Our Catholic Faith
  • Share the Good News
  • Serve the Needs of Others
Every year, near Pentecost, the Stewardship Team promotes participation in ministries and encourages parishioners to sign up for, or renew their commitment to, ministries in our parish. However, sign-up is not limited to this time period. You can sign up anytime!

What Are My Gifts?
Our talents are those special blessings that each of us receives from God, those things that we are especially good at or enjoy doing.  The following questions may help you discover your gifts. A family member or friend may also be able to help. Sometimes others help us to see and recognize our own gifts.  If you would like additional help in discerning your gifts, please contact Parish Staff member Lisa Hedrick.
  • Are you creative?
  • Do you have a talent for music -- vocal or instrumental?
  • Do you have the gift of teaching?
  • Are you compassionate?
  • Do you feel called to pray for others?
  • Do you enjoy making others feel welcomed?
  • Do you love to bake or cook?
  • Are you a talented writer?
  • Are you an organizer or effective task manager?
  • Are you willing to share your faith journey with others?
  • Do you have the gift of proclaiming The Word?
  • Do you enjoy gardening -- digging in the dirt, tending
    flowers or cutting grass?

  • Are you proficient at using technology?

Is My Help Needed?
St. Paul the Apostle Parish is a vibrant community! We have over 700 parishioners, of all ages, active in some type of parish ministry. Could our parish be strengthened by your gifts and participation? Absolutely! Imagine the possibilities!

As we prepare for the Feast of Pentecost, let us encourage and support one another in our ministries:
  • Pray for ministry team members and the parish.
  • Invite others to serve on your team when you see a need and a gift that can be offered.
  • Welcome and involve new ministry members and allow them the opportunity to serve and grow in their faith.
  • Be open to new ways of doing the same ministry, when possible and appropriate.
  • Are you "looking for more" in your ministry work? Discuss your concerns with a ministry member or parish staff member.

“Each one, as a good manager of God’s different gifts, must use for
the good of others the special gift he has received from God… so that
in all things praise may be given to God through Jesus Christ…”
