Stewardship of Time (Praying)
Stewardship of Talent (Serving) Stewardship of Treasure (Sharing) Stewardship of Creation |
Fr. Thomas Connery has a gift for storytelling. In this booklet, he explains with humor and wit the rewards of a life transformed by stewardship. Fr. Connery says stewardship blankets all aspects of our spiritual life. Using our gifts of time, talent and treasure, we give back to God what he has generously given to us.
Copies of this booklet, a gift from our Parish Stewardship Team, are available on the kiosk in the church hallway. |
The Seven Traits of Joyful Stewardship Are...
|
Each trait includes a reflection and the opportunity to put into action a "Practice" activity.
May our focus on these traits of joyful stewardship guide us all in our journey to one day hear: "Well done, my good and faithful servant." [Matthew 25:23] |
What Are Your Gifts and Talents That You
Can Share with the Church and Others?
Can Share with the Church and Others?
As disciples of Christ, we are called to use our gifts/talents in service to the Church and to others. There are several ways that you can put your gifts and talents into action and live our parish mission. How will you use your gifts to:
• Celebrate Our Catholic Faith
• Share the Good News • Serve the Needs of Others |
May 19-20, 2018, is Pentecost! At that time we are asked to commit/recommit ourselves to the ministry teams of the parish. As an outward sign of our commitment, we will complete commitment cards during Mass that weekend. You can prepare by previewing the commitment card HERE.
Every year, near Pentecost, the Stewardship Team promotes participation in ministries and encourages parishioners to sign up for, or renew their commitment to, ministries in our parish. However, sign-up is not limited to this time period. You can sign up anytime!
What Are My Gifts?
Our talents are those special blessings that each of us receives from God, those things that we are especially good at or enjoy doing. The following questions may help you discover your gifts. A family member or friend may also be able to help. Sometimes others help us to see and recognize our own gifts. If you would like additional help in discerning your gifts, please contact Parish Staff members Pat Krause or Lisa Hedrick.

Is My Help Needed?
St. Paul the Apostle Parish is a vibrant community! We have over 700 parishioners, of all ages, active in some type of parish ministry. Could our parish be strengthened by your gifts and participation? Absolutely! Imagine the possibilities!
As we prepare for the Feast of Pentecost, let us encourage and support one another in our ministries:
As we prepare for the Feast of Pentecost, let us encourage and support one another in our ministries:
- Pray for ministry team members and the parish.
- Invite others to serve on your team when you see a need and a gift that can be offered.
- Welcome and involve new ministry members and allow them the opportunity to serve and grow in their faith.
- Be open to new ways of doing the same ministry, when possible and appropriate.
- Are you "looking for more" in your ministry work? Discuss your concerns with a ministry member or parish staff member.
Lent 2018

What is prayer? Prayer is the lifting up of our hearts and minds to God. Prayer is how we get to know God. It is how we talk to and listen to God. Prayer is about relationship. It is unique for each one of us, yet it is up to each of us to make sure the relationship exists. Prayer is a gift of time. After we begin to pray on a regular basis, we can see how God has entered our lives in tangible ways, meeting our needs when we least expect it. . . .
READ MORE about how to begin praying and how you can use prayer to be open to God's love for you during the 40 days of Lent. This flyer also includes the Lenten Commitment Cards for adults, teens and children. Please review the suggestions of opportunities for Prayer, Fasting, and Almsgiving that you can offer to the Lord this Lent, in preparation for next weekend (February 10-11, 2018). At that time, we will receive and complete our individual Lenten Commitment Cards and place them on the altar.
Filling out and submitting a Commitment Card is a commitment you make to God alone. When you submit your card at Mass next weekend, it will stay in the basket on the altar throughout the entire Lenten season. Only you and God will know what's in your heart!

The Church is one of the gifts God has given to us. As good stewards, we show our thanks for this gift by sharing a meaningful portion of our treasure. We have grateful hearts, realizing that all gifts come from God.
Our giving demonstrates our faith and trust that our Lord will take care of us. Faithful stewardship of our treasure impacts our lifestyle and causes us to lead simpler lives. Our giving should be unconditional, with nothing expected in return.
We invite you to prayerfully consider what you will generously return to the Lord for His work through St. Paul Parish. Will you give for the first time this year? Are you able to increase your giving this year?
During the weekend of November 18-19, 2017, we each will demonstrate our commitment to the Lord's work by completing and submitting a confidential Commitment Card in the collection basket at any Mass.
Copies of our new Stewardship brochure have been mailed to parishioners. In addition to Stewardship of Sharing and the Commitment Card, it also describes the other two areas of stewardship that we emphasize at other times during the year: Stewardship of Prayer and Stewardship of Service. Through all of these areas of stewardship, we acknowledge that God is the source of all of our gifts and talents, and we are the caretakers. We strive to be good stewards in all areas of our lives!
